SELINSGROVE, PA – Susquehanna volleyball split with Nazareth and Messiah on the second and final day of the 18th Annual River Hawk Classic Saturday, taking wins in sets two, three and four to defeat the Golden Flyers and dropping a 3-1 match to a formidable Falcons squads to complete the day in a battle of the unbeatens. The River Hawks stand at 2-1 through their opening weekend.

SUSQUEHANNA 3, NAZARETH 1
Nazareth gave Susquehanna a tough go in the opening set by way of a 25-21 victory. It would be the only time they'd break 20 points, however, as the River Hawks handily swooped in to take the next three sets, 25-14, 25-16, and 25-19.
After ten errors in the first set to 14 kills (.100 percent), Susquehanna had just 14 errors the rest of the way to 40 kills, never going higher than five errors in any of the remaining games. The River Hawks finished with a .211 hitting percentage, amassing 54 total kills and 67.0 points.
Ryan Rorls led the scoring spree with 15 kills, while
Brie Livezey swung for a dozen kills. Setter
Keira Roach logged 37 assists along with six kills as
Amanda Gore led in the kill percentage category with .462 on seven kills to one error.
Sami Kline contributed a .357 kill percentage off eight kills to three errors, while leading with four block assists.
Valerie Stoltz led with two service aces and adding eight digs.
Emily Kowalski had a team-best 22 digs and contributing five kills.
MESSIAH 3, SUSQUEHANNA 1
In the battle of the unbeatens of the tournament, Messiah took the first two sets by respective 25-21 and 25-19 scores. With game three tied at 19-19, Susquehanna rallied off five straight points to force a fourth set with a 25-23 decision. The Falcons countered with a 25-20 win to call match in the fourth set.
Ryan Rorls again led in kills with 11 as
Brie Livezey totaled ten kills and
Amanda Gore eight.
Keira Roach had 26 assists with eight digs, while
Jessica Sack got 27 digs to lead the team.
Messiah had just one more kill for the match than Susquehanna with a 50-49 margin, though they landed 11 service aces in the match to the River Hawks' four. The Falcons finished with a .180 attack percentage for the match, including a .343 percentage in set two on 15 kills and five errors, while Susquehanna had a .143 percentage, including a .308 in set three.
