Volleyball Pushes Win Streak to Seven After Road Sweep of Lycoming

WILLIAMSPORT, PA - Not only did Susquehanna women's volleyball extend their win streak to seven matches following Friday night's sweep at Lycoming to improve to 3-0 in the Landmark, the River Hawks achieved their 15th straight set win over the course of five matches. Outside of a considerably handy 25-18 win in set one, Susquehanna had to stand its ground in the second and third sets to maintain the sweep, prevailing in both by 25-22 scores.

Behind 20-18 in the second set, Susquehanna seized on a Warriors service error to run off the next four points, including kills by Amanda Gore and Ryan Rorls and one service ace from Jessica Sack. Setter Keira Roach finished things off with her own service ace to clinch the second set. Facing another challenge in game three with Lycoming up 19-15, another service error triggered an SU run, this time six consecutive points thanks to three kills from Gore and one from Brie Livezey, along with a service ace from Emily Kowalski. Ahead 23-22, Livezey contributed another kill to reach match point, with the game ending on a Lyco attack error.

Gore led all scorers with 14.5 points on a match-high 13 kills with one block assist and one service ace, overall administering a .440 attack percentage. Kowalski was right behind with 13.5 points with a dozen kills, one ace and one block assist on a .385 kill percentage. Ryan Rorls and Stella Robinson each had eight kills, with Rorls also adding 11 digs. Roach set up 38 assists to go with 12 digs, three kills, two aces and two block assists, while Sack led with 17 digs.

The River Hawks' hot streak will be put to the ultimate test Saturday as they head to number-one and defending national champion Juniata to match up against the Eagles at 12 noon, followed by a 2:30 non-conference matchup against Washington and Lee.
