HUNTINGDON, PA (October 12, 2024) - The Susquehanna University volleyball team dropped both matches of their Saturday Juniata Tri-Match. First to Juniata and then Washington and Lee in 3-0 sweeps.
The first match against Juniata ended quickly with the Eagles taking the three sets 25-6, 25-9, and 25-9 again. The River Hawks managed just six kills the entire match to go along with 17 errors and a .188 attack percentage. Emily Kowalski and Ryan Rorls were the only players with multiple kills with three for Kowalski and two for Rorls.
Next, Susquehanna took on Washington and Lee and again the River Hawks fell 25-14, 25-15, and 25-18 in all three sets. This time around the team managed 29 kills, 18 errors, and a .106 attack percentage. Kowalski and Amanda Gore led the team in kills with seven each. Kiera Roach finished with 25 assists and 15 digs, leading the team in both, and Jessica Sack finished behind Roach with 12 digs.
Both losses drop Susquehanna to 12-9 on the season and 3-1 in Landmark Conference play. The team's next match is on the road against Elizabethtown College on Tuesday Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. before returning home for their homecoming matches against Scranton, Drew, and York College on Friday Oct. 18 and Saturday Oct. 19.
