WESTMINSTER, MD - The Susquehanna University men's tennis team made it a brief stay Saturday at McDaniel, breezing through the doubles competition with respective 6-0, 6-0, and 6-1 wins, followed by five straight-set victories in singles for a 6-1 win. Their fantastic start to the season improved to 5-0 overall with one more match scheduled for the fall.
The top doubles team of
Logan Rauschenberger and
Tyler Hester secured a 6-0 win, as did
Owen Miller and
Daniel Murphy at two.
Austin Imhoof and
Nathan Bassett cruised to a 6-1 victory. Rauschenberger made it a perfect day in the one spots, taking his top singles match by 6-4 and 6-1 scores. Miller won his three singles match by matching 6-1 wins, while Hester won at four, 6-1 and 6-3. Bassett was the fourth River Hawk to amass a doubles and singles sweep, taking down his opponent on court five, 6-3 and 6-1, while
Gavin Ream captured his six singles match, 6-2 and 6-0.
The River Hawks look to close out their fall season in style with next Saturday's Landmark home match against Catholic at 1 p.m. as part of Susquehanna University's Homecoming Weekend.
