Women Sweep McDaniel in Final Fall Road Trip

WESTMINSTER, MD - Susquehanna University women's tennis captured all their matches in Saturday's road trip at McDaniel, improving their record to 3-2 with one match still to play in its fall slate.

The River Hawks rolled over the Green Terror in doubles, beginning with the three team of Amelia Maguire and Macey DiBastiani winning their match, 6-0, followed by the two team of Kaiya Reisinger and Claire Gallagher winning in the same fashion. The one tandem of Alexa Wanamaker and Mackenzie Romig took down their opposition by a 6-3 score.

Susquehanna carried the momentum over to singles, with McDaniel only able to secure one set win between matches three through six. Romig won at three singles, 6-0 and 6-1, while Maguire, Reisinger, and Claire Gallagher all won by 6-0 scores at four, five, and six, respectively. One singles proved to be the most competitive matchup of the day as Wanamaker tangled with McDaniel's Rachel Smith, winning out in set one, 7-5, then a more decisive 6-1 second set. At two singles Katherine Yoder handled business against Mackenzie McCarter by 6-2 and 6-3 sets.

The maroon and orange's fall finale is set for a Landmark Conference matchup against Catholic at home on Saturday, Oct. 19 as part of Susquehanna University's Homecoming Weekend.
