SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna men's soccer were beaten 3-1 on Homecoming Weekend by Moravian, with the game seeing four second-half goals.
The River Hawks held the shooting advantage in the first half, taking five, including two for
Tom O'Keefe and
Max Paczewski, to the Greyhounds' three, but had nothing to show for it after the opening 45 minutes.
It was Moravian who hit the back of the net first, with Sean Kirwin netting in the 51st minute. The lead did not last long, as
Hayden Swinehart's strike from the edge of the box arrowed past Casey Prajzner in goal for the Greyhounds for his sixth goal of the campaign.
Moravian scored again in the 68th minute through Ben Scary and added the third from the penalty spot in the 81st minute.
While outshooting their visitors 11-9, the River Hawks only managed two shots on target to Moravian's five, with the hosts' shots on target coming via Swinehart's goal and Paczewski's saved attempt. O'Keefe and Paczewski led with three shots behind
Clay Yannazzone and Swinehart with two, and
Liam Raney also added a shot.
Santiago Andino made two saves in goal.
The River Hawks' defeat drops them to 7-5-3 on the year, with a 2-4 clip in Landmark play. Their next two games both come at home, with clashes against Juniata and Scranton in their near future before a meeting with Drew wraps up their regular season.
