SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna University improved to 4-0 on their fall stretch Saturday with a 6-1 non-conference victory at home versus Misericordia.
Despite a doubles victory in the one spot via
Daniel Murphy and
Austin Imhoof defeating Dalton Alexander and Wyatt Fischer, the Cougars earned a point by winning the remaining two doubles matches, including a seven-point runoff at two between SU's
Eli Markle and
Jack Thon and MU's Chase Cavanaugh and Christian Mazza, with the latter claiming a 7-6 (5) victory. The visiting team of Eli Harding and Hunter Wesolowski beat River Hawks
Luke Ardise and Josh Walton, 6-3.Â
Susquehanna responded with a sweep of the singles matches, all in straight sets. From the top down
Logan Rauschenberger continued his impressive debut season beating Fischer 6-2, 6-0. Tommy Hallahan took down Alexander at two with matching 6-1 scores.
Owen Miller beat Cavanaugh at three, 6-1, 6-0, while
Tyler Hester beat Christian Mazza 6-3, 6-3.
Nathan Bassett beat Harding at give, 6-1, 6-2, while
Gavin Ream took down Hunter Wesolowski, 6-2 and 6-0.
The River Hawks' next competition takes them down to Maryland to face McDaniel Saturday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m.
