ORLANDO, FL - The Susquehanna University men's tennis team kickstarted their spring season Monday down in Central Florida against Belhaven. The River Hawks posted one doubles win and two singles victories as the Blazers took a 6-3 victory.
The three doubles tandem of
Owen Miller and
Daniel Murphy got SU's first victory of the day when they defeated Mark Breedlove and Hayden Lassiter by an 8-6 score. At two singles
Tim Basta challenged Justin Humphrey to a three-set showdown, pulling out the win 7-5, 1-6, 10-8. This was matched by
Gavin Ream, who took down Josiah Leggett at six singles 3-6, 7-6 (5), 10-8.
The River Hawks have some Landmark Conference flavor awaiting them on day two Tuesday as they'll play Scranton in a conference matchup starting at 10 a.m. from the Fort Gatlin Courts.
