ORLANDO, FL - Susquehanna University's women's tennis team celebrated an 8-1 win over Belhaven Monday to open their week in Florida over spring break. The River Hawks swept the doubles competition and took five of six in singles to defeat the Blazers and improve to 2-3 on the season.
Susquehanna's top four players all took doubles and singles wins in
Julie Bramley,
Alexa Wanamaker, Isabelle Scappaticci, and
Katelyn Richter. Bramley and Wanamaker opened at one doubles, cruising to an 8-6 win. Bramley moved on to one singles where she defeated Lily Grace by 6-2 scores, while Wanamaker handled three singles against Kendra Williams, edging out the first set 7-6 (4) and set two , 6-4. Scappaticci and Richter got the win at two doubles 8-6, with Scappaticci winning set two, 6-3 and 6-2, over Evie Moore and Richter defeating Natalie Goggans in the four singles spot, 6-4 and 6-0. The River Hawks walked over in three doubles and six singles.Â
The River Hawks have some Landmark Conference flavor awaiting them on day two Tuesday as they'll play Scranton in a conference matchup starting at 10 a.m. from the Fort Gatlin Coutrs.Â
