ORLANDO, FL – The Susquehanna University women's tennis team met a familiar opponent Tuesday in Central Florida with a Landmark Conference match against Scranton. Despite the familiarity, the Royals maintained their top-caliber play with a 9-0 win over SU.
Scranton handled all three doubles matches with considerable ease by 8-1, 8-3, and 8-0 respective scores. The closest Susquehanna got was at two singles, where
Isabella Scappaticci played Danielle Wisniewski in a close first set, which Wisniewski barely edged out 7-6 (6). She went on to clinch the match in the second frame with a 6-3 score. Next closest came at three singles, where
Alexa Wanamaker played Gisele Falzone in a close first set, which Falzone was able to win 6-4. She then went on to post a 6-1 second set victory.
The River Hawks will have the day off Wednesday before returning to their slate Thursday against Hamline from the Oak Street Courts.
