Box Score 2 ORLANDO, FL – The Susquehanna University women's tennis program completed their spring break trip in Central Florida facing off against Hamline Thursday and Northwestern (MN) Friday, both resulting in 8-1 ledgers in favor of their opponents.
Against the Pipers
Isabella Scappaticci earned a tough win at two singles over Ashley Pitzen, winning the opening game 6-4 and pulling out a nailbiter in set two 7-6 (5). The one doubles team of Julia Bramley and
Alexa Wanamaker played a close match against Natalie Randall and Chrissa Muller, with an 8-6 score benefitting the latter. Bramley also had a close match in the one singles spot versus Chloe Reyes, which Reyes won out by matching 6-3 scores.
Bramley broke through Friday against Northwestern with a win at one singles, defeating Annie Orvis in three sets, winning the first 6-4 then overcoming a 7-5 defeat in the second game to take the tiebreaking set overwhelmingly, 10-2. Bramley and
Alexa Wanamaker faced Orvis and Abby Johnson at one doubles, serving as the closest doubles match of the day with the Northwestern team winning 8-4. Wanamaker played the next-closest singles match in the three spot, falling to Elise Jarchow by matching 6-4 scores.
The River Hawks return up north with the Landmark Conference season ahead of them, beginning at Drew Saturday, Mar. 23.
