SELINSGROVE, PA – The spring opener for the Susquehanna women's golf team proved successful as they started with a win over Eastern Thursday in match play at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club. The River Hawks won four of the five matchups by considerable margins.
Sara Rados, who made her season debut after studying abroad in the fall, won her matchup with Maddie Howes going seven-up with six holes to play.
Molly Rohan defeated Jessie Schreiber going eight-up with seven holes remaining, as did
Kellyn Hackett-Slimm over Kyle Smith.
Ava Greene accounted for the last SU win, going three-up on Lindsay Addink with two holes to go.
Rohan shot a +10 for the day to lead the team, while
Erin Hahn netted a +11 and Rados a +17. Hackett-Slimm fared a +24, while Greene carded a +42.
Thursday marked the first career win for new head coach Aaron Ettinger. They look to keep it going on Tuesday, April 2 at Juniata from the Huntingdon Country Club in Huntingdon, Pa.
