Men's Tennis Splits Weekend Conference Set with Lycoming, Catholic

SELINSGROVE, PA – Susquehanna men's tennis completed a home-and-away Landmark Conference weekend, welcoming Lycoming to the friendly confines of the Garrett Tennis Courts in an 8-1 victory Saturday and on the road at Catholic Sunday, dropping a 7-2 contest to the Cardinals.

The River Hawks have four more matchups in the regular season, all at home, with Landmark matchups against Juniata April 24 and Goucher April 25, followed by non-conference meeting with McDaniel April 27 as part of Senior Day and King's (Pa.) April 28.

SUSQUEHANNA 8, LYCOMING 1
The two doubles team of Owen Miller and Daniel Murphy garnered an 8-0 win, while Susquehanna picked up another doubles win at three due to a forfeit, awarded to Eli Markle and Jack Thon. The River Hawks followed this by sweeping the singles events. At one singles Tim Basta earned a competitive three-set win, overcoming a 6-4 defeat to Luke Leach in the opening set to take the second frame 6-1 and ultimately the 10-8 victory in the tiebreaker. Alex Baker cruised to 6-3 and 6-2 wins over Connor Albaugh at two, followed by Owen Miller 6-1 and 6-0 over Matthew Baldridge, Thoams Hallahan's 8-2 victory over Josh Neidert at four, Gavin Ream's 6-0 and 6-2 triumph over Mohamed Ebeid at five, and Murphy winning at six by forfeit.
CATHOLIC 7, SUSQUEHANNA 2

The two doubles team of Tim Basta and Gavin Ream posted an 8-6 win over Ben Perks and Leyton Ramos-Platt for the maroon and orange's lone win in the doubles set, although Owen Miller and Daniel Murphy's three matchup with Charles Robbins and Nathaniel Barish came down to a 15th-set tiebreaker, with the Cardinals tandem prevailing 7-2. Thomas Hallahan accounted for the team's lone singles victory in the four spot, handing Jose Centenera a 7-5 and 6-2 defeat. Murphy again played to a tiebreaker, this time with Lucas Boyle at six. Both sides exchanged 6-4 victories before Boyle won out despite heavy resistance from Murphy, 10-8.
