Box Score DALLAS, PA - Susquehanna baseball traveled to No. 19 Misericordia on Tuesday afternoon to take on a second different nationally ranked opponent this season. They faced the wrong end of a 17-3 defeat, however, unable to keep up with the Cougars' offense.
Harrison Keeler got the start and took the loss for the River Hawks. He threw 2.2 innings and gave up six earned on six hits, including a three spot in the first and three more as part of a five-run third.
The River Hawks put up a run in the second,
Dylan Heyduk scoring on an RBI single off the bat of
Griffin Shenman, the first-year coming into the game batting .485.
Susquehanna added two more runs in the fifth, with
Sean McCulloch stealing third and advancing on a throwing error as part of a double steal that saw him swipe his conference-best 29th base of the season.
Joe Healy singled home
Kris Morrow moments later for the River Hawks' last run of the night.
After scoreless innings in the fourth and fifth, the Cougars tacked on four runs in the sixth and a further five in the seventh.
Corey Bean came in after three runs had already scored in the seventh frame, getting out of the inning while only allowing the inherited runners to score.
Tony Rossi relieved him for the bottom half of the eighth, and the All-Landmark First Team selection from a year ago struck out two in his first career appearance on the mound.
The River Hawks play again this weekend, taking on Drew in a three-game set at Harold Bollinger Field. With this defeat, they fall to 14-17 on the season ahead of a stretch of eight games in nine days.
