Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Anthony Heller

Men Keep Up Impressive Start with Shutout Win at Immaculata

IMMACULATA, PA - Daniel Hartzell scored the only goal as Susquehanna men's soccer ran out 1-0 winners at Immaculata on Saturday. Hartzell's goal represented his second in as many games.

The River Hawks jumped ahead early, with Hayden Swinehart adding another assist to his Division III-leading tally as he picked up his eighth helper of the season as he provided the pass for Hartzell to finish past the Immaculata goalkeeper.

Despite being outshot 16-4, the River Hawks capitalized on their golden opportunity, with Hartzell scoring early on in the 14th minute.

Tony Burns got the start in between the sticks for the River Hawks, making seven saves on the day. He denied two Mighty Mac shots in the first half and five in the second while earning his second clean sheet of the year. The River Hawks totaled three corners to the hosts' four, and committed six fouls to Immaculata's nine. Along with the goal from Hartzell, shots came for Clay Yannazzone, Cole Kline, and John Kuderka.

Chances came and went for the Mighty Macs, but the River Hawks' defense held strong, as they saw out 77 minutes of the lead to earn the win. A last-second chance for the hosts was sent wide of the right post to seal the victory for the River Hawks.

With the win, the River Hawks move to 5-1-1 on the season, and they remain unbeaten on the road with three wins and a tie to show for it. They play again at King's on Tuesday before they host Wilkes on Senior Day in their Landmark Conference opener next Saturday.
