EWING, NJ - Susquehanna women's soccer traveled to #11 The College of New Jersey for a Wednesday night clash, eventually falling 4-0 after holding the ranked opposition scoreless in the first half.
Despite a 15-0 advantage in shots in the first half, TCNJ were unable to break onto the scoresheet. They opened the scoring in the 52nd minute before making it 2-0 in the 54th minute. Just a minute later, the Lions were awarded a penalty kick, but were denied by
Katie Henchy in between the sticks for the River Hawks. She made a second save moments later on the rebound.
However, TCNJ added their third in the 63rd minute and a fourth in the 76th minute to put the game away.
Amelia Kopp and
Morgan Stickley each tallied shots for the River Hawks, while Henchy made 16 saves, the most in a regulation game since Jordyn Slocum made 19 in a game at Misericordia in 2014.
The River Hawks drop to 4-4-1 on the campaign ahead of their Landmark Conference opener on Saturday when they meet Wilkes for Senior Day as they prepare to honor their seven seniors.
