Men's Soccer Dealt Defeat on the Road at Stevenson

STEVENSON, MD - Susquehanna men's soccer played out its final scheduled non-conference matchup for the 2025 season on Wednesday night, but fell 5-0 at the hands of Stevenson on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Stevenson had the first early chances, but did not force a save from Susquehanna goalkeeper Jason Krum until the 21st minute.
  • An effort from Khalil McDonald from just inside the penalty area was missed wide to the left moments later in the 23rd minute.
  • The Mustangs grabbed a pair of quick goals around the half-hour mark, with both Zack Reightler and Gianfranco Vitella putting past Krum to hand Stevenson a quick two-goal cushion.
  • Despite a chance in the 40th minute falling for Jack McCarthy, whose shot was saved by the Stevenson goalkeeper, it was the Mustangs who tallied the next goal, going three ahead just before the interval through Ryan Miller.
  • Angelo Zografos had a shot blocked to win a corner, which led to another one, and the second corner resulted in a Cole Kline shot saved.
  • Miller added his second to make it 4-0 in the 56th minute, and Vitella joined him by scoring the fifth in the 60th minute.
  • While Stevenson had another shot saved in the 77th minute, with Ryan Becker coming up with a stop, Liam Raney also had a shot saved in the 79th minute, the final shot of the night.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • The River Hawks were outshot 20-10 on the night, with seniors Zografos and Raney leading the team with two apiece. Raney also led with two shots on target, as Stevenson led 10-5 in that category.
  • Susquehanna won five corners to the Mustangs' four, while the foul battle was identical, with Susquehanna committing five and winning four.
