WILKES-BARRE, PA - Susquehanna University women's volleyball got both their weekend and Landmark Conference season off to a great start Friday night at Wilkes, overcoming a first-set defeat by winning the next three frames to defeat the Colonels in four. They continue their weekend trip Saturday visiting Moravian at 4 p.m.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
- Wilkes went on a tear in the first set, posting a staggering .410 attack percentage with 19 of their points coming off kills to take the set, 25-21, despite Susquehanna going .211 with its attack percentage and 11 kills in the set.Â
- The River Hawks remained focused and consistent, which helped guide them through the rest of the match. While they registered a .289 and .275 attack percentage in the next two sets, Wilkes dropped to .237 and .146, respectively. Susquehanna used 16 kills in set two to edge out Wilkes, 25-23, then improved to 17 kills in set three to win, 25-20.Â
- While both sides' hitting efficiency dropped in set four, Susquehanna remained in the black with 12 kills against eight errors, while the Colonels suffered through just six kills against 11 errors as the River Hawks clinched the match with a 25-18 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Susquehanna finished .215 on the night, totaling 56 kills against 19 errors, while Wilkes was .168 on 49 kills against 23 errors.
- Kyndall Mason, Stella Robinson, and Sam Kline each finished in double figures in kills, with Mason and Robinson each tallying 13 and Kline 12. Mason also led with three service aces.Â
- Kline had the best attack percentage of anyone Friday night at .500, collecting 12 kills and just one error, along with three total blocks, including one solo.
- Elliott Schleicher registered 36 assists to tie for the game high with Wilkes' Rachael Anderson.Â
- Jessica Sack continued her defensive prowess with 28 digs, moving the senior's career totals to 1,388. She also had two service aces alongside Lauren Halsey, who recorded six assists and six digs.Â
- Addison Dodge added to the Friday night festivities with nine kills and a .348 attack percentage, as well as three total blocks with one solo.

- The River Hawks open their Landmark Conference season 1-0 and 5-13 overall following a competitive non-conference stretch to open their season. They are back at it Saturday afternoon playing Moravian at 4 p.m. before returning to Houts Gymnasium to play Elizabethtown Tuesday at 7 p.m.
