SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna quarterback
Josh Ehrlich and kicker
Dominic Bourgeois accounted for 39 of the team's points Saturday in their 69-7 Landmark win over Lycoming, leading to both of them receiving Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week honors for their offense and special teams.
Ehrlich picked up his first Landmark weekly honor of 25 after an outstanding afternoon where the offense generated nine touchdowns against the Warriors. He fired off 32 passes, completing 25 of them for a season-high 279 yards with three touchdown passes, while rushing ten times for 53 yards and one rushing touchdown. All three TD passes went to different receivers in
Daniel Growney,
Robert Stolfa, and
Frankie Mroz. Ehrlich covered all this through the first two-and-a-half quarters as the second string came in, leaving the field with a 48-0 Susquehanna lead showing on the board.
Bourgeois had a plentiful day on field goals and extra points to make up for the fact that the usual kicker/punter at least got to rest his leg on punting Saturday as the River Hawks did not punt all afternoon. He got the team's first points of the day pon a 32-yard field goal on the team's opening drive and kicked his second from 27 yards out to make it 48-0, putting him 6-for-6 on the season on field goals. He converted on all nine extra point tries, now at 25-of-26 on the season. This marks his second weekly honor from the Landmark after getting the nod in Week 1 after making four field goals against Union, which also resulted in D3football.com Team of the Week honors.
Ehrlich, Bourgeois, and the River Hawks also retained Saturday the Stagg Hat Trophy in their annual rivalry game with Lycoming, pushing their win streak to eight in that category. They continue their Landmark season and another trophy defense this Saturday when they travel to Juniata in the annual Goal Post Trophy Game.
