How it Happened:
- A back and forth battle in the opening quarter between the Greyhounds and River Hawks saw almost no offense, that is until Taylor Rothermel received a pass from Gracie Roush, off of the corner taken by Hannah Garlin. Rothermel buried the ball behind Hounds goalkeeper Maia Machado.
- The offenses both stalled out through the second frame, with both teams playing a defensive battle heading into the break.
- Moravian struck first in the third period, sending the equalizer into the back of the cage. Less than two minutes later, Moravian was able to take the lead after a Samantha Culver shot found its way past Kylie Schmidt.
- With less than five minutes remaining in regulation, Haley Dreisbach took a shot, connecting to tie the game back up at two all.
- The game remained tied through the remainder of regulation, sending the game into golden goal overtime.
- Mady Quigley aimed a shot directed towards Moravian's goalkeeper less than four minutes into extra time, sending the ball back to the back of the cage, winning it for the River Hawks.
- With today's win over Moravian, head coach Allison Fordyce earns her 100th career win as the River Hawks play caller.
