WILLIAMSPORT, PA - Susquehanna women's soccer traveled up the road Saturday to take on a Lycoming squad that entered the fray at 16-1 overall. An early River Hawks' goal forced the Warriors to play catchup and though they tied the match, SU held firm to hand Lyco its first draw of the year 1-1 in an important late-season Landmark Conference matchup as the orange and maroon look to seal up a conference tournament spot with one game to go at Goucher on Tuesday.
How it Happened:
- Less than two minutes into the match up, the River Hawks earned a corner kick opportunity.
- Morgan Stickley received the corner kick, passing the ball over to Maesie Baker, where Baker drove a shot right into the back of the net, putting the River Hawks on top 1-0 less than three minutes into the match.
- Both teams tallied shot after shot for the remainder of the first half of play, before Lycoming's Ella Magee took a shot with under a minute to play in the first 45, finding the back of the net.
- The Warriors tallied one last shot in the first half, where Henchy made a diving save to keep the game knotted up at one all heading into the second half of play.
