Men Keep it Rolling Shutting Out Lycoming

WILLIAMSPORT, PA - Susquehanna University men's tennis kept the wins coming Saturday, winning all nine matches in their 7-0 road win at Lycoming to boost their Landmark record to 2-2 and 7-2 overall.

The doubles featured one shutout victory as the two team of Nathan Bassett and Thomas Hallahan defeated Lyco's Logan Hammond and Kayvan Shams, 6-0. The next win was the three tandem of Eli Markle and Jack Thon beating Mohamed Ebeid and Luke Taylor, 6-3, followed by the one matchup that saw Tyler Hester and Logan Rauschenberger take down Joshua Neidert and Matthew Baldridge, 6-4. Heading into singles, the River Hawks delivered two more shutouts as Rauschenberger rematched Neidert in a more decisive 6-0 blanking in both frames, whereas Owen Miller posted a similar fate at the expense of Baldridge at two singles, 6-0 and 6-0. The four singles match between Bassett and Shams did provide a major highlight, going to three sets in a lengthy deciding frame. After Shams won the first set 6-3, Bassett countered with a 6-4 victory in game two. The third set proved to be a marathon, though ultimately won by Basset, 12-10. The three singles match was third to finish as Hester breezed through his opponent Logan Hammond by matching 6-1 scores. At six singles Austin Imhoof charted a pair of 6-2 wins over Luke Taylor, while at five Daniel Murphy defeated Ebeid, 6-4 and 6-3.

The River Hawks return home Saturday, April 5 hosting Scranton.
