BALTIMORE, MD - First-year
Logan Rauschenberger added another highlight victory to his resume Wednesday at Goucher. While the sure-footed Gophers etched a 6-1 victory, they were denied a sweep at one singles. Rauschenberger played against Gabe Naftoly, one half of his doubles nemesis that defeated him and
Tyler Hester at one doubles, 6-2. Naftaly took the first set 6-3, then Rauschenberger evened the match with a decisive 6-0 win in game two, then ultimately a 10-4 victory in the tiebreaker.
The singles matches offered another three-setter at five singles as
Nathan Bassett matched up with Jackson Beam. Basset won the opening game 6-2, but Beam returned the favor in game two, 6-4, and took the tiebreaker 10-3.
Austin Imhoof also had a close go at six singles against Manny Vidal, with the latter taking both sets by 6-3 and 6-4 scores. The closest doubles match of the day took place at three doubles, with the team of
Thomas Hallahan and Bassett falling to Beam and Guilherme Moraes. 6-3.Â
