WILKES-BARRE, PA - Susquehanna's men's tennis team picked up another Landmark Conference win Saturday at Wilkes by a 6-1 score. The River Hawks captured two of three in the doubles competition and five of the six singles matches to lock down the victory.
Logan Rauschenberger,
Tyler Hester, and
Owen Miller all secured doubles and singles wins against the Colonels, including the one doubles tandem of Rauschenberger and Hester defeating Cole Riley and Otarhe Okoh by a 6-2 score. Rauschenberger went on to defeat Nathanial Rathe at one singles by 6-4 and 7-5 (5) scores. Hester took down his four singles foe Donovan Zong by 7-5 and 6-4 ledgers, while Miller won his three singles flight against Okoh, 6-0 and 6-2. Miller teamed with
Daniel Murphy in the two doubles spot, beating Connor Frey and Rathe, 6-2.
Nathan Bassett went three sets with Frey in the five singles spot, winning the first set 6-3, then overcoming a defeat by the same margin in the second frame by winning the tiebreaker 6-2.
Austin Imhoof earned the last victory for SU on the day in the six singles spot, taking down Jonah Nguyen 6-4 and 7-5.
The team has two more Landmark matches and three overall going into the final weeks of the regular season, facing off at Juniata on Tuesday at 4 p.m. and hosting Scranton Saturday, April 26. They also have a non-conference date at King's Sunday, April 27.
