LANCASTER, PA - In a high-scoring season-opening contest, Susquehanna University Field Hockey tried its best to keep up at Franklin & Marshall Friday night. While they managed to tie the game and bring it to within one, the Diplomats seemed to quickly find scoring opportunities to keep their grip on the game in a 5-3 decision.

Susquehanna scored the equalizer less than two minutes into the second frame, off a shot by Mady Quigley. Quigley earned the goal for SU, while Emma Campitelli earned the first assist of the young season.

Mady Quigley tacked on two shots, both on goal, with both shots finding the back of the cage. The 2024 Landmark Rookie of the Year and Tournament MVP now has ten career goals with 25 points. Just this week she was tabbed to the NFHCA Division III Watchlist.

Hannah Garlin, took one shot on goal, converting the second River Hawks goal of the year. It marked just the third career goal for the junior for the defender/midfielder after scoring one goal apiece her rookie season and last year.
