IMMACULATA, PA - Susquehanna men's soccer made it two wins in a row as they traveled to Immaculata University on Saturday to take on the Mighty Macs, as two second-half goals helped them earn an impressive non-conference victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A third-minute chance came for the hosts, but Jason Krum was equal to the effort, and the next two chances came Susquehanna's way through senior John Kuderka, who forced a save from Luca Greppellini in the 9th minute.
- By the midway point of the first half, Kuderka had taken four shots, while Immaculata as a team had only come up with a pair.
- The half-time whistle came not long after chances for Liam Raney and Aidan Kaminski, but both sides headed into the break having been held off the scoresheet, with the Mighty Macs kept out by good work from Krum.
- Khalil McDonald and Kuderka had the first couple of Susquehanna efforts in the second half, but were unable to trouble Greppellini.Â
- The River Hawks broke the deadlock in the 64th minute following a sustained spell of pressure, when Javier Diaz received McDonald's pass on the right wing, beat a defender, and lofted a cross to the far post that was met by Jack McCarthy, whose header across goal found its way into the net for the opener.
- The River Hawks were not content to sit back and defend a one-goal lead, with 81st-minute chances for Raney followed by Zak Kreisher both saved as they aimed to put the game away.
- Susquehanna doubled their lead as the game entered its final two minutes, as a long throw by Aidan Diglio picked out the head of Raney in the penalty area, whose dangerous flicked-on header got the redirection it needed off an Immaculata defender to beat the goalkeeper.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The River Hawks took nine shots in each half to outshoot the Mighty Macs 18-11, with Kuderka's five and Raney's four joined by two each from Kreisher, Diglio, and Kaminski led the way. Seven Susquehanna shots were on target, including Raney's three.
- Krum made six saves en route to his first collegiate clean sheet on his second start of the season. He is part of a goalkeeping unit that leads the Landmark Conference in saves at a rate of 82% of shots on target faced.
- Diglio tallied his second assist of 2025, while Diaz grabbed the first of his career. Raney and McCarthy both got their name on the scoresheet for the first time this season.
- Susquehanna won nine corners to Immaculata's four, while committing 15 fouls and winning eight committed by the Mighty Macs.
- The River Hawks' lone change to the starting eleven was in goal, as Krum was picked for the start and played a full 90 minutes.
