Zach McCoy Joins Baseball Coaching Staff

SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna University baseball head coach Denny Bowers has announced Zach McCoy as the team's new assistant coach. Originally from Modesto, Calif., McCoy played college ball at the University of Dubuque in Iowa, where he earned his Bachelor's, before finishing his career at University of Wisconsin Platteville where he received his Master's and began his college coaching career. 

In his time playing at Dubuque, the Spartans won the first conference title in program history in 2018, then advancing to win two games at NCAA regionals. As a middle infielder, McCoy is in the school record books ranking sixth all-time for assists in one season and seventh in career assists. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Sports Marketing and Management in 2021. McCoy continued his playing career at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, receiving his Master's in Sports Administration in 2023. He served as an assistant coach with the Pioneers for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. This past spring he was an assistant coach at Gordon College in Wenham, Mass. and this summer coached the Carolina Forest Crawdads of the Beach Collegiate Baseball League.

Along with his college coaching background, McCoy was a Senior Sales Assistant for Ticket Operations at the University of Tennessee and as the Baseball Site/Tournament Director for JP Sports for three years.
