BALTIMORE, MD - Susquehanna women's basketball downed the Goucher Gophers on the road Wednesday night, picking up their 13th win of the season and advancing to 6-3 in the Landmark to complete their first rotation of conference games. The night was also highlighted by
Julia Pinckert, who moved into sole possession of fifth all-time in the women's basketball record books in career assists with 358 after registering five on the evening.
How it Happened:
- The River Hawks jumped out to the early 4-0 lead following a Julia Roth and Annie Greek lay up.
- SU continued to press, holding a lead throughout the entire first quarter of play.
- The River Hawks jumped out to as much as an 11 point lead, with the visiting team leading 20-14 at the end of the first.
- SU continued to hold a lead entering the second quarter of play, with Carly George starting the scoring in the frame.
- Susquehanna pushed their lead all the way to 13 points following a lay up off the hand of Julia Pinckert.
- SU entered the break leading 42-31.
- Coming out of the break the River Hawks began to dominate the Gophers, not allowing their lead to drop below 12 points for the first half of the quarter.
- Late in the third quarter Goucher cut the SU lead down to seven, but Julia Pinckert nailed two free throws to push it back to nine.
- Zoie Maffei closed out the quarter for the River Hawks by sinking a free throw, taking their lead 66-54 into the fourth quarter.
- It was all SU in the fourth, as the team pushed their largest lead of the afternoon to 25 points.
- Susquehanna fended off any late comeback and won the game 87-70.

- With Julia Pinckert's first assist of the night, she officially moves into fifth place all-time in career assists, currently sitting with 358 assists.
- Sydney Weyant netted a career-high five 3-pointers Wednesday in a 5-for-9 showing from behind the arc to lead Susquehanna with 19 points.
- Julia Roth continued her streak of double doubles, scoring 16 points to go along with 10 rebounds.
- Pinckert, Annie Greek, and Carly George all reached double digit point status as well. Pinckert with 11 points, Gree with 16, and George 10 points. George contributed six rebounds, while Zoie Maffei tied with Roth for the team lead with ten boards to go with nine points on the night.
- Susquehanna shot 43.3% from the field (29-of-67), in comparison to Goucher's 40.3% from the field (27-of-67).
- SU finished the contest making eight 3-pointers and shooting a near-flawless 21-of-23 from the free throw line. Goucher connected on seven threes and fared 9-of-15 from the line.
