WASHINGTON, D.C. — Susquehanna University women's volleyball wrapped up a busy Saturday with a pair of matches at Catholic University, falling 3-2 to the host Cardinals before dropping a 3-0 decision to Randolph-Macon College.
Match One: Catholic 3, Susquehanna 2
- The River Hawks opened the day with a five-set battle against Catholic, taking the first and third sets before the Cardinals rallied to claim the final two.
- Susquehanna opened the match with a commanding 25-15 victory in the first set, hitting .368 as a team. Catholic answered with a 25-21 second-set win, but the River Hawks regained the advantage with a 25-20 victory in the third.
- Catholic edged Susquehanna 25-18 in the fourth set to force a deciding fifth set. The River Hawks held an early advantage in the final frame, but the Cardinals closed out the match with a 15-13 victory.
- Sami Kline led the River Hawks with 13 kills and added two service aces and two solo blocks. Addison Dodge recorded 11 kills and a team-best five blocks, while Camille Ince added nine kills.
- Lauren Halsey directed the offense with 23 assists, while Emma Nkanza contributed 13 assists. Abby Madigan paced the defense with 18 digs, followed by Callie Wince with 11.
- Susquehanna finished the match with 50 kills, 48 assists, 57 digs and nine blocks.
Match Two: Randolph-Macon 3, Susquehanna 0
- The River Hawks returned to the court in the afternoon against Randolph-Macon, which took the match in straight sets, 25-14, 25-19, 25-13.
- Susquehanna battled throughout the second set, using a late push to close within six points at 19-13 before the Yellow Jackets pulled away. Randolph-Macon then controlled the third set to secure the 3-0 victory.
- Ince led the River Hawks with eight kills, while Kline added five kills and a block. Halsey finished with 10 assists and two aces, and Nkanza added five assists.
- Olivia Lupole led Susquehanna with 10 digs, while Wince recorded nine. The River Hawks finished with 19 kills, 17 assists and 33 digs in the match.
