SELINSGROVE, PA - The Susquehanna University women's basketball team made history with Wednesday night's dominating Landmark Conference win against Goucher. The 99-57 victory not only keeps the River Hawks at a healthy pace in the Landmark standings in third place with a 13-4 league record, but their overall record stretched to 20-4, marking the program's first 20-win season since 1994-95. Their 13 Landmark wins are a program record.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
- The River Hawks started off hot, tying a program record with 31 points in a single quarter to lead 31-15 at the end of the first period.
- The Susquehanna women kept the heat on to take a 56-27 lead going into halftime.
- Sydney Weyant and Annie Greek showcased their 3-point shooting prowess well in the first half, combining for five threes. Weyant made 3-of-5 for 17 points, while Greek connected on 2-of-6 for eight points. Combined with Julia Roth's 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the floor in the first half, the three combined for 37 of the team's 56-first half markers.
- The shots continued to fall for Susquehanna in the second half as they totaled 43 second-half points between 23 in the third and 20 in the fourth to come within a hair of a 100-point game.
- The River Hawks' largest lead came late in the fourth quarter as a Zoie Maffei 3-pointer gave them a 43-point lead up 94-51.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Susquehanna shot 55.2 percent from the floor at 37-of-67 compared to Goucher's 31.9 percent display at 23-of-72. The River Hawks strung together 13 threes, led by four from Weyant and three from Greek. The orange and maroon also shot 12-of-16 at the free throw line to the Gophers' 6-of-10.
- Weyant's game high in threes complemented an 8-of-14 night shooting towards a game-high 22 points. Roth weighed in with 18 points in a 7-for-10 night shooting, while Carly George racked up a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, along with seven assists. Greek also finished with 11, while gathering six rebounds.
- Maffei was second on Susquehanna with nine rebounds, while collecting seven points. Julia Pinckert added a pair of 3-pointers in a six-point night, while gathering four rebounds and four assists.
- Thirteen River Hawks took the floor Wednesday as Renee Wells, Delaney Chilcote, Maffei and Avery Nelson each contributed one 3-pointer apiece to round out the team's 13 from long range.
- Susquehanna commanded the boards with a 52-30 lead in rebounds, including a 39-18 lead in offensive boards that led to an 18-8 lead in second-chance points.
- George and Roth, both now with over 600 career rebounds, are now at 628 and 620, respectively, for ninth and tenth all-time. Roth surpassed the 900 career-point plateau, now with 912.
- Pinckert's four assists puts her at 399 lifetime to move up to third all-time. Her pair of threes gives her 108 for her career, while her four rebounds gets her to a 545 career total. She has 815 career points.

- The River Hawks have one last Landmark regular season test this Saturday, hosting Drew at 4 p.m. as part of Senior Day where the team will recognize George, Pinckert, Roth, and Lauren Klein.
- Susquehanna currently sits in third place in the Landmark standings, one game behind Catholic, who lost to Elizabethtown Wednesday night, 58-56. The Cardinals play first-place Scranton Saturday. A Cardinals loss to the Royals and River Hawks and Blue Jays wins Saturday would force a three-way tie for second place in the conference standings, leading to a tiebreaker scenario. Elizabethtown plays Lycoming on Saturday.
