SELINSGROVE, PA - The Susquehanna University men's lacrosse team ran into a high-scoring Arcadia program Saturday afternoon, with the Knights unloading for 23 goals in a 23-5 victory.
Matt Chubenko and
Tyler Young each had two goals on the day, while
Quin Michaels accounted for the remaining one.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Arcadia's 23 goals were spaced out between seven goals in the first quarter, eight in the second, two in the third and six in the fourth. Susquehanna's were accounted for through two in the first, two in the second, and one in the third.
- Pat McDermott had two assists on the day, offering up Chubenko's first goal to make it 4-2 in the first quarter, then feeding Youn in the second quarter to make the score 11-4 Arcadia.
- Jimmy Maro and Nick Remund each had one assist. Remund's assist came on the team's first goal of the day from Tyler Young to make the score 3-1. Maro foudn Chubenko to give him his second goal of the day in the third quarter to make the score 15-5.
- Goalies Jack Storipan, Will Harcourt and Greyson Stewart all split time in goal for the River Hawks. Storipan got the start before giving way to Harcourt, who logged four saves in 30 minutes of action. Stewart also finished with four saves in 15 minutes of play.
- Arcadia's scoring leader was AJ Laibach, who had five goals on the day, while Dylan Garber led the game with six points on two goals and four assists. Sean Perkinson, Connor Macklin, and Reilly Robichaud each had three goals, with Perkinson adding an assist for a four-point day.
UP NEXT FOR THE RIVER HAWKS
- Susquehanna embarks on a four-game road trip the next two weeks, beginning at Misericordia on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 4 p.m., then King's (Pa.) on Saturday, Feb. 28.
- During Spring Break the River Hawks head down to play Washington (Md.) on Tuesday, Mar. 3 at 4 p.m. and then Haverford Saturday, Mar. 7 at 3 p.m.
- They make their home return with a three-game home stand, starting with Lebanon Valley Mar. 11, Saint Vincent, Mar. 14, then their Landmark opener against Elizabethtown Mar. 21.
