DALLAS, PA - Susquehanna women's lacrosse picked up their first win of the 2026 season Friday afternoon with an 11-5 win at Misericordia. The River Hawks scored the game's first five goals and never looked back.
Abby Andrus and
Waverly Oake-Libow each had five points to lead the way, five goals from Andrus and five assists from Oake-Libow, as the team now shifts gears and makes the trip to Clearwater, Fla. for two games over spring break next week.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
- The River Hawks got right to work, quickly taming the Cougars' defense by reeling off five goals for a 5-0 lead after one quarter. Two of which were scored on player-up chances, one from Sloane Coddington and one from Andrus, with the latter tacking on another goal in this stretch. The other two were carried out by Abby DiComes and Sophia Trively, with Oake-Libow contributing two assists in the first-quarter scoring.
- Misericordia looked to counter with two goals to start the second quarter to make it 5-2, only for Susquehanna to match that as Makaela Larkin and Coddington each delivered the first half's final two scores for a 7-2 halftime lead.
- The two teams each exchanged a goal in a two-goal third quarter, with Susquehanna's coming from the tandem of Andrus scoring and Oake-Libow on the assist.
- The two Abbys made up for all three of Susquehanna's goals in the fourth quarter, with Andrus netting two more before the final horn, while DiComes delivered the one other to give SU its largest lead of the game at 10-3 with 4:57 to play in the game.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Andrus' brings her career scoring totals to 120 points on 108 goals and 12 assists. She leads the Landmark currently with 11 goals through four games.
- Oake-Libow also leads the Landmark with 10 assists through four games.
- Five of Susquehanna's goals were scored on player-up chances as a bevy of cards were handed out throughout the game, including four yellow cards.
- Aerin O'Brien totaled seven saves in a full 60 minutes in net for her first win of 2026 and the senior's 24th win of her career.
- The River Hawks led the Cougars in shots, 29-18, including 22-9 in shots on goal.
- Susquehanna had four free position chances, landing one as Coddington scored on her lone opportunity. Misericordia won on three of its six chances.
