CLERMONT, FL - Susquehanna softball opened their spring break trip and season against Concordia University and No. 1 Trine University. Susquehanna fell to Concordia in their first game of the season 7-1 while also falling to Trine 13-0 in five innings.
Concordia 7 Susquehanna 1:
- Concordia started the day out hot, scoring six runs in the opening inning of the game. Concordia continued to push their lead in the second inning, scoring their seventh and final run of the contest.
- Stevie Shaak sent a triple to right center, scoring Isabella Sulesky from second base.
- The River Hawks tallied an additional two hits in the fourth inning, starting with a Maddy Devine single to left field. Savannah Patrone singled to left field in the second inning following Devine.
- Brie Jones tapped a single throught the right side in fifth inning.
Trine 13 Susquehanna 0
- Trine came out of the gate hot, scoring eight of their 13 runs in the second inning.
- Trine continued to push their lead scoring an additional four runs in the third inning. The Thunder tacked their thirteenth and final run of the evening in the fourth inning.
- Sulesky netted a single in the fifth inning, while Elle Walasavage also singled in the fifth inning.
Inside the Box Score:
- The River Hawks tallied six hits against Concordia, with Stevie Shaak earning two of the six hits. Jones, Sulesky, Patrone, and Devine all notched one hit during the contest.
- Amanda Amerman earned the start against Concordia, pitching two innings. Jones finished the game working four innings and recording three strikeouts.
- Susquehanna recorded two hits against Trine. Sulesky and Walasavage both recorded one hit during the contest.
