STATE COLLEGE, PA - Susquehanna Women's Golf returned to its first competition of the spring season within state lines this weekend at the two-day Pennsylvania Division III Classic, hosted by Penn State Altoona at the par-72 Penn State White Course. The ladies played the gold tees, stretching 5,672 yards. The River Hawks posted a team score of 338 (+50) total to put them in second place after day one. They improved by eight strokes to shoot a team score of 330 (+42) to shoot a two-day combined score of 668 (+92) to finish in second place. Washington & Jefferson College took home the team wins with a 661 (+85) score.
RIVER HAWKS ON THE COURSE
- 1. Kennedy Petrovich - Led the team with a Saturday score of 71 (-1), finishing the day in first place. Petrovich's score of 71 ties her record for lowest program score. On day two, Petrovich shot a 77 (+5) to take home the individual title with a 148 (+4) combined score. She finished with six birdies, including five on day one.
- 6. Cailyn Schall - Finished day one with an 82 (+10) total, carding seven pars and one birdie. Improved on day two with a 79 (+7) thanks to ten pars and a birdie for a total of 151 (+17) and a 6th place overall finish. She had three birdies, including two Sunday.
- 14. Peyton Cerminaro - Had a 91 (+19) total after day one, carding four pars. Recorded the biggest improvement with an 82 (+10) score on day two for a 173 (+29) total. She had two birdies on Sunday.
- T-26. Isabella Westerfield - Finished day one with a 94 (+22) total after day one, carding three pars. Then improved by a stroke at a 93 (+21) to finish with a 197 (+43) total score.
- T-28. Mylee Lorigan - Shot a 96 (+24) Saturday, with a four stroke improvement on Sunday with a 94 (+20) to shoot a 190 (+44).
UP NEXT FOR THE RIVER HAWKS
- The River Hawks have three more dates before late April's Landmark Conference Championships, beginning with their home Spring Invitational on April 11 at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club.
- Following that, on April 18, they are competing in the East Stroudsburg Invitational.
- Before Conference Championships, they are headed to the Conquer the Island Tournament on April 22, at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort.
