BALTIMORE, MD - Susquehanna ends its regular season with a victory following their impressive 16-8 win against conference foe Goucher College on Wednesday evening. The River Hawks took a large lead early and continued the pressure after scoring 12 first half goals. They enter the Landmark Conference tournament with a 10-8 overall record and 6-3 in the conference.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
- Susquehanna struck first with a quick Sloane Coddington goal only 39 seconds into the game to put the River Hawks up before the Gophers tied it up with 13:11 left in the first.
- The River Hawks responded with three straight goals, two from Abby Andrus and one from Jessica Russo, to make it 4-1.
- Goucher scored their second of the game with 1:57 left in the first before Makaela Larking brought the score to 5-2 at the end of the quarter.
- Sophia Trively and Russo opened up the second quarter with two goals before the Gophers responded and made it 7-3 with 10:34 left in the second.
- Susquehanna got hot for the rest of the quarter scoring five unanswered goals to make it 12-3 heading into halftime. All five were off of different sticks, coming from Russo, Waverly Oake-Libow, Coddington, Andrus, and Larkin.
- Trively scored with 10:03 left in the third for the first goal of the quarter before Amaya Locke and Katie Bloom scored two goals for Goucher making it 13-5.
- Andrus scored her fourth goal of the game and Maggie McDermott scored to increase Susquehanna's lead to 10 and put in place the running clock at the end of the third.
- 28 seconds into the fourth Emma Nelson scored for Goucher setting the clock back to normal. Goucher scored again and made it 15-7.
- Abby DiComes scored in the final minutes of the game before Goucher tallied on one last goal and ended the game at 16-8.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Andrus led the River Hawks with four goals. Russo scored three times, Trively, Larkin, and Coddington all scored twice, and McDermott, DiComes, and Oake-Libow also scored once.
- Locke led the Gophers with three goals and three points.
- Coddington led both teams in draw controls with six.
- Susquehanna had 39 shots to Goucher's 26 and had 15 shots on goal to their 14.
- Susquehanna went 6-10 on free position shots and Goucher went 3-5.
- Aerin O'Brien had nine saves and allowed seven goals in 51:47 before Maggie Patterson came in for the final 8:13 having one save and allowing one goal.

With their victory over Goucher the River Hawks secured the fourth seed in the Landmark tournament, setting them up to host the five-seed Drew Rangers on Saturday, April 25. In their previous matchup Susquehanna defeated Drew 12-7 in Madison, NJ, on April 11.
