SCRANTON, PA - Susquehanna University's women's lacrosse has a lot to be proud of after a hard fought season that saw them earn the fourth seed in the Landmark Conference tournament and defeat Drew College in the first round 12-7. But ultimately, their season comes to end after their defeat to the University of Scranton on Wednesday night. Scranton rode their dominant five unanswered goals in the first quarter to a 13-4 victory over the River Hawks.

HOW IT WENT DOWN
- Scranton proved why they are a top team in women's lacrosse with four quick goals to give the Royals a 4-0 lead with 10:29 left in the first.
- Aerin O'Brien made six saves throughout the rest of the first quarter but conceded another goal to make it 5-0 after the first 15:00.
- The Royals kept the pressure up scoring two more goals within the first four minutes of the second.
- Abby DiComes put the River Hawks on the board with a goal off of a Jessica Russo pass to make it 7-1 at halftime.
- Susquehanna got the scoring started in the second half off the stick of Makaela Larkin who scored a free position goal to make it 7-2 with 12:45 left in the third.
- The response from Scranton was quick with another goal from them only 37 seconds later to make it 8-2.
- The Royals tallied two more goals before the end of the quarter giving them an eight-goal lead headed into the fourth.
- Sophia Trively scored first in the fourth quarter on a free position goal to bring the River Hawks within seven and make it 10-3.
- The Royals scored three goals in a row to give them a 10-goal lead and start the running clock.
- Senior Ruby Calabrese scored her first goal of the season off a pass from DiComes to stop the running clock and make it 13-4 at the end of the game.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Susquehanna had four goals all from different players: DiComes, Larkin, Trively, and Calabrese.
- Scranton's Jillian Lopez led the game with five goals. Eileen Hewitt scored twice and six other players scored once.
- Kieran Spears had seven draw controls for the River Hawks and Larkin won five ground balls.
- O'Brien was in goal for all 60:00 and had 13 saves and allowed 13 goals.
- Scranton had 39 shots to Susquehanna's 15 and 21 shots on goal to their seven.
- Susquehanna won 10 draw controls and Scranton won eight.
- The River Hawks turned the ball over 31 times and Scranton turned it over 15 times.
