ALLENTOWN, PA - Susquehanna opened the 2026 season Tuesday night with a 3-1 victory over Muhlenberg, overcoming a 27-25 loss in the opening set to win the final three sets by scores of 25-18, 25-19 and 25-20.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
- After dropping the first set, the River Hawks settled in offensively, hitting .219 in the second set before taking control with a dominant .414 attack percentage in the third set.
- Susquehanna closed out the fourth set with a 25-20 victory to secure the season-opening win and begin the year 1-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- First-year outside hitter Isabella Sallie led all River Hawks with 13 kills in her collegiate debut, adding 14 digs for a double-double.
- Junior setter Lauren Halsey orchestrated the offense with 29 assists, while also contributing 11 digs and three service aces.
- Senior middle blocker Sami Kline posted eight kills while tying for the team lead with three blocks.
- Junior middle blocker Addison Dodge also recorded three blocks, while contributing five kills.
- First-year libero Abby Madigan led the defensive effort with 16 digs and added three service aces.
- Susquehanna finished with 46 kills, matching Muhlenberg's total, but held a significant advantage in hitting percentage, .252 to .102.
- The River Hawks also held edges in service aces (9-6) and blocks (6-5).
- Susquehanna's offense became increasingly efficient throughout the match, recording just one attack error in the third set and three in the fourth.
