CENTER VALLEY, PA - Susquehanna University's men's cross country team placed third at the 43rd Annual DeSales University Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 19, competing in the 8K at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pa. The River Hawks finished with 74 points, behind TCNJ (39) and host DeSales (42).

How It Went Down

• The Susquehanna University men's cross country team turned in a third-place finish Saturday at the 43rd Annual DeSales University Cross Country Invitational, scoring 74 points in the 8K.
• Junior Derick Blair led the way for the River Hawks, capturing first place overall with a time of 25:30.5. Blair averaged 5:07.9 per mile and finished more than 14 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
• Senior Hunter Valentino followed with a seventh-place finish in 26:39.4, while sophomore Andrew Hilke crossed the line 21st in 27:43.4.
• Sophomore Brady Ryder finished 23rd overall in 27:46.0, and senior Evander Lackman rounded out the River Hawks' scoring five with a 25th-place finish in 27:51.8.
• Freshman Jack Shoemaker added a 28:05.9 finish for 28th place, while freshman Gabriel Becker finished 40th in 28:56.3. Freshman Alex Sutherland posted a time of 28:59.0, and junior Thomas McGann finished in 29:31.8.
