WESTMINSTER, MD - Susquehanna field hockey erased an early deficit and scored just 40 seconds into overtime to earn a 2-1 victory over McDaniel Friday afternoon at Gill Stadium.
Jada Thompson tied the game in regulation with her first goal of the early campaign, while first-year
Bailey Neff used the extra frame to notch her first career score in walkoff fashion.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
- McDaniel struck first late in the opening quarter, with Samira Morgan scoring at 14:33 off an assist from Lola Minor to give the Green Terror a 1-0 lead.
- Susquehanna answered in the second quarter when Jada Thompson scored her first goal of the season at 22:29 to even the game at 1-1.
- The River Hawks controlled much of the middle portion of the game, holding McDaniel without a shot in the second and third quarters.
- Neither team could find the go-ahead goal in the fourth quarter, sending the game to overtime.
- Susquehanna needed just 40 seconds of overtime to finish the comeback. Bailey Neff scored her first goal of the season at 60:40 to give the River Hawks the 2-1 victory.
