SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna's women's
soccer team dropped their first match of the year on Saturday,
falling to non-conference opponent Misericordia 2-0, playing in
soggy conditions nearly all game.
The Crusaders (3-1) committed a foul at 27:03 in the first half
inside the penalty box. The Cougars (4-0) capitalized on the
ensuing shot, taking the lead 1-0.
At intermission, Misericordia outshot SU 10-2 but the Crusaders
held the advantage in corners 3-1.
The Cougars added an insurance goal in the 51st
minute to increase their lead 2-0.
Junior forward Marissa DeParto (Franklin Lakes, N.J. /
Indian Hills) had two shots and goalkeeper Rachel
Norbuts (Woodstown, N.J. / Woodstown) made four saves for
the Crusaders.
The Crusaders have a quick turnaround as they travel to
Pitt-Bradford tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
