Caroline Lewis followed suit with goals of their own as the Susquehanna University Women's soccer team defeated Penn College 4-0 late Wednesday afternoon at Sassafras Field in Selinsgrove.
The River Hawks (9-1-1) got off to a solid start in the first half, having 12 corner kicks and 16 shots on goal but none were able to find the back of the net.
Having been stellar all season, the Susquehanna defense was strong once again, keeping Penn College off the board and only allowing one Wildcat shot before the half.
Entering the second half tied at zero, the River Hawks continued their barrage of shots, immediately creating more positive momentum. In the 54

Anna Werner scored on an assist by
Alee Pettit giving Susquehanna the first lead of the game.
The River Hawks continued to dominate as they put up another 21 shots in the second half. Three of those found their way into the net as
Kathryn Perlowitz scored in the 64
th minute on an assist from
Samantha Chillis. Chillis then scored a goal of her own in the 68
th minute on an assist from
Lanie Urbanski.
With a late unassisted goal in the 84
th minute from
Caroline Lewis, the River Hawks capped off a 4-0 victory.
The defense recorded its seventh shutout of the year and sixth in a row.
Madison Welliver recorded three saves in net.
The River Hawks look to extend their current seven game win streak on Saturday, October 6, in a Landmark Conference game when they take on the Catholic University Cardinals at 4 p.m. in Selinsgrove.
