Caitlin Kelly finished in first place in the 500 yard Freestyle and
Olivia Fravel also came out victorious in the 100 yard Breast stroke but the Susquehanna University Women's Swimming and Diving team dropped a close contest with Messiah and also fell to Gettysburg Saturday afternoon in Gettysburg.
Kelly finished the 500 yard Freestyle with a time of 5:20.09, defeating Gettysburg's Katherine Sears by just .25 seconds as the race came down to the final stretch. Kelly also finished the 100 yard Freestyle in 10:56.08, less than four seconds behind Gettysburg's Megan Wojnar.
Fravel won the 100 Yard Breast stroke with an impressive time of 1:08.83, defeating her closest opponent by nearly three seconds.
Katie Willis completed the 200 yard Freestyle in 2:02.19, good for a second place finish before finishing the 100 yard Freestyle with a time of 55.77 and the 50 yard Freestyle with a time of 25.61.
Fravel,
Tori Weems, Kelly and Willis all teamed up for a second place finish in the 400 yard Freestyle relay, completing the race in 3:46.00.
Susquehanna dropped the meet to Messiah 132-128 and were defeated by Gettysburg 162-98.
The River Hawks continue their season Thursday, November 29
th when the team travels to Kenyon for the TPSC Invitational.
