Lancaster, Pa. – Sophomore Abby Condon (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) picked up three wins to lead the Susquehanna University women's swim team in their first competitive action of 2019. Susquehanna (2-5) dropped a heartbreaking 131-130 decision to the host Franklin & Marshall College Diplomats (6-3) and fell 138-123 to Worcester Polytechnic Institute (8-6).

How It Happened

• Condon's first win of the meet came as part of the 200 medley relay as she joined up with sophomore Olivia Fravel (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) and seniors Maggie Palaski (Stroudsburg, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) and Katie Willis (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) for top honors in 1:54.13.
• Condon then captured the 100 backstroke in 1:02.12 while junior Megan Shaffer (Berwick, Pa./Central Columbia) finished fourth (1:02.71).
• Condon ended the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 backstroke in 2:12.86.
• Fravel won the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.77 while freshman Paige Swartz (Pottstown, Pa./Hills) came in second (1:11.24) and senior Megan Duck (Madisonburg, Pa./Penns Valley) was fourth (1:13.26).
• Willis earned a second win in the 100 freestyle in 54.77 before anchoring the third-place 400 freestyle relay (3:46.27). Joining Willis on the relay were sophomore Tori Weems (Cordova, Md./Easton), Fravel, and junior Caitlin Kelly (West Chester, Pa./Henderson).
• Kelly gained a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle in 5:19.29 followed by Shaffer in third in 5:21.60.
• Kelly was also second in the 1000 freestyle in 10:53.98, just nine-hundredths of a second behind the winner, while sophomore Larissa MacDougall (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) placed fifth (11:47.58).
• Duck picked up a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke in 2:35.03 followed by Fravel in fourth in 2:35.82.
• Weems took third in the 200 freestyle in 2:02.66 while Kelly garnered fifth place in 2:03.03.
• Willis paced the River Hawks in the 50 freestyle in 25.47 while Shaffer was third in the 200 individual medley (2:17.85) followed by sophomore Brooke Boes (Westwood, N.J./Westwood Regional) in fifth (2:21.22).
• Palaski came in fourth in the 100 butterfly in 1:01.81 while freshman Sabrina Krotzer (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) was the highest for SU in the 200 butterfly, finishing seventh (2:22.20).
