SELINSGROVE, PA - With a 2-0 win over Drew on Saturday, Susquehanna women's soccer sealed a place in the Landmark Conference Tournament. Entering as the sixth seed, they must win Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday to seal a second Landmark Conference title under head coach Nick Hoover.
The playoff picture looks like this: Scranton sealed the one seed, and will host all the way through the tournament. They secured a first-round bye and will await the winner of fourth-seeded Moravian and fifth-seeded Elizabethtown for a place in the final. Catholic have the second seed after winning on the final day with Drew's defeat at Sassafras Field, so they take on the winner of Drew and Susquehanna.
Emily Wertz leads the way for the River Hawks in goals, assists, and points, with six, five, and 17 respectively. She provided both assists in the regular-season win over Drew, and will be hoping to repeat the trick as for the second straight year, the Rangers meet Susquehanna in the Landmark Conference tournament.
Kayleigh Saboja has started all 17 games in goal for the River Hawks, making 63 saves for a .778 save percentage over the regular season, and she aims for a third successive shutout after blanking both Dickinson and Drew in the final two games of the regular season.
The winner of the Halloween clash will play again on Thursday in Washington, DC, as they take on Catholic. The winner of that game will play again on Saturday for a fight for the Landmark Conference championship.
