SELINSGROVE, PA - The Susquehanna University women's swimming and diving team defeated Dickinson College in gritty fashion tonight in Selinsgrove by a score of 106-98.
To open the meet, the 200-Yard Medley Relay squad of Ashley Derrick, Mia Doll, Amy Segond, and Emma Church took 1st place in style, with a winning time of 1:53.72. The Red Devils relay would finish over four seconds behind.
A short while later, Segond would win the 200-Yard Freestyle in a 2:02.25. She just out-touched Tori May of Dickinson by .05, and, in a meet where every point mattered, this start was crucial for the 'Hawks, as Segond secured nine team points with the victory.
First year Hailey Oosterwyck nailed her first collegiate win in the 100-Yard Freestyle with a time of 57.49.
Doll went on to sweep her individual events in yet another meet. She won the 200-Yard IM in a 2:16.49, then win the 200-Yard Breaststroke in a 2:35.31. In the breaststroke, she was followed closely by sophomore Mackenzie Moran who earned 2nd place in a 2:36.56. This 1-2 finish would rake in 13 team points for the squad, essentially securing the win for the River Hawks.
The River Hawk women close out the first half of their dual meet season with a 3-1 record, their only loss being a 6-point heartbreak to the Elizabethtown Blue Jays. They will soon travel to Ithaca College on December 1st to compete in the Bomber Invitational.
