Baseball and Softball Both Set to Host Landmark Tournament Openers

SELINSGROVE, PA (May 7, 2024) -- The Susquehanna University Baseball and Softball teams each clinched the number-four seeds in their respective Landmark Conference Tournaments, earning hosting rights for the First Round Play In games on Tuesday afternoon. Baseball, led by head coach Denny Bowers '01 will host fifth-seeded Drew University for the second time this season, with the game beginning at 3 pm. Then Caressa DeRossett's squad will take on #5 seed Lycoming College at home for the second time in less than a week, having faced the Warriors in their regular season finale on Saturday afternoon. That game will begin at 4 pm.

Both teams will be fighting to earn a place in the four-team double elimination tournament that will determine the Landmark Champions this season. The top three seeds already earned spots, while the play-ins determine the fourth team. The baseball tournament, which will be hosted by the University of Scranton, features #1 seed Elizabethtown, #2 seed Catholic, and #3 seed Scranton, with the play-in winner slated to face off against Elizabethtown on Friday afternoon, while Catholic will play Scranton. On the women's side, Moravian University will host, with the Greyhounds also earning the #1 seed. Catholic again earned the second seed, while Juniata claimed the third seed. The play-in winner will face Moravian while Catholic and Juniata square off in the first two games on Friday afternoon.
