SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna's Women's Volleyball team claimed their fifth straight win over Lycoming, sweeping the Warriors in three sets on their way to victory. This win also makes the River Hawks 4-0 in landmark conference play this year, setting up a match against also undefeated Juniata on Saturday.
How It Went Down
- The first set saw Susquehanna jump out to a high scoring start, as in a blink of an eye they were up 9-5 to begin the set. The River Hawks then went on a 12-5 run in the next few sets, with two kills from Kyndall Mason and Elliott Schleicher, Sami Kline, Stella Robinson and Valerie Stoltz each recording a kill.
- With the score at 20-10 now, Susquehanna would hold on to win set one 25-15 with two kills from Stoltz and a kill from Robinson. The errors were apparent for both teams, as in the first set alone the attack errors ratio was Susquehanna with five and Lycoming with four and service errors at Susquehanna five and Lycoming with two.
- Set 2 was a bit closer then the first, with both teams involved with heavy back and forth action. The River Hawks eventually found themselves up 16-11, and then went on a 10-6 run over the Warriors to seal the deal, with Addison Dodge getting three kills in that run.
- The third set was more like the first, with the River Hawks getting to a fast 9-2 lead over Lycoming. Instantly Susquehanna was applying pressure while the Warriors couldn't find a way to stop it.
- Susquehanna was up by as many as eleven in the set, and only after some errors from the River Hawks led to the Warriors scoring some points, the River Hawks completed the sweep with a 25-14 third set win.

- Stoltz and Mason led the way in the kills department for Susquehanna, each recording 9 kills. Kline and Dodge also combined for 8 kills each, while Robinson also recorded 7 kills.
- Jessica Sack and Mason also combined for 13 digs respectively, and Dodge also knocked in two blocks in the match..
- As a team the River Hawks had 46 kills and six service aces while maintaining a .315 hitting percentage and also holding Lycoming to a .040.

- Susquehanna will have its biggest challenge of the season on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., when the reigning D3 National Champion Juniata Eagles come to town. Juniata is 19-2 with a 6-0 Landmark conference record, and also are ranked fifth in the national D3 volleyball rankings.
- A battle of the current 1 seed vs 2 seed in the landmark conference will end with one team being handed their first loss of the season, as both Susquehanna and Juniata enter with undefeated conference records.
