SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna softball head coach
Caressa DeRossett has announced the hiring of
Michelle Evdos as assistant coach. Evdos hails from Wesley Chapel, Florida, bringing along four years of collegiate playing experience from Dakota State University, becoming the first athlete in school history to be named an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention in 2023.
Evdos competed at DSU from 2022-25 as a catcher and utility player, finishing with four school records and multiple North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) All-Conference recognitions, including three First Team selections her freshman, sophmore, and junior years. She was also a two-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association/NAIA All-Region First Team. Evdos finished as the program's all-time leader with 326 total bases, 60 doubles, 138 RBIs, and 71 walks.Â
Evdos graduated from DSU with a degree in computer information systems, before starting her coaching career at D-BAT Softball Academies, which stands for Developing Beliefs, Attitudes and Traditions. While at D-BAT, Evdos was tasked with teaching young players the skills they need to grow inside of the sport of softball.Â
"Softball has been a huge part of my life and who I am as a person," said Evdos, "and I can't imagine it not being a part of my life and sharing my love with other players."Â
"I am so excited to welcome Coach Evdos to our coaching staff," said Coach DeRossett. "She immediately stood out in the interview process with her passion for the game and her dedication to developing student-athletes both on and off the field. I'm thrilled to have her join us as we continue to build a strong, well-rounded team and elevate every aspect of our program."
