Softball Ready for 2026 Season with Action-Packed Schedule

SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna softball has their 2026 schedule locked in as the River Hawks begin a jam-packed season in Florida the first week of March over spring break. Head coach Caressa DeRossett returns to Susquehanna for her fourth season, showcasing a 58-54 record at SU and making the Landmark Tournament each of the last three years, including a championship appearance in 2023.

"Coach DeRo" welcomes back three of the team's four All-Landmark choices in pitcher Brianna Jones, outfielder Alyssa Mayorca, and designated player Savannah Patrone. These three helped headline a 2025 season where the River Hawks clinched the four seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament as Jones earned 10 wins in the circle, while Patrone tied for the team lead with three home runs. Jones and Mayorca led the team last year among returners with 32 base hits and four triples each, while Mayorca tore up the base paths stealing 18-of-19 bases. For Jones and fellow seniors Kaylee Smallen, Madison Apostolakos, Stevie Shaak, Hannah Foust, Katelyn Dugery, and Amanda Amerman, all will look to do their part in the team heading back to the Landmark Conference championship game for the first time since their rookie seasons in 2023 and ultimately the River Hawks' first Landmark title since 2022.

Susquehanna softball's season starts out with a spring break trip down in Clermont, Florida. Concordia (Wis.) opens the slate of games for SU in Central Florida on Mar. 2, followed by a game later in the day against Trine University. Another twin bill on March 3 sees SU take on Eastern University and Saint Vincent College. Susquehanna takes a short break before returning to action on March 5 against Emmanuel College (Mass.) and Bluffton University. St. John Fisher University and Chatham University are slated next for the River Hawks, with SU taking on both teams on March 6. Susquehanna's final day of their spring break trip sees an early morning game against Wentworth Institute of Technology, followed by Brandeis University on March 7.

The River Hawks head back down south to Virginia to play in the Cross Bay Bash, starting in Virginia Beach Mar. 14 to play Virginia Wesleyan and University of Rochester. They'll rematch the latter on March 15 in Newport News, followed by a round with Christopher Newport. Following the Cross Bay Bash, Susquehanna returns to the road on March 18 to take on York College of Pa. The River Hawks return home for a four game home stand on March 21, taking on Penn State Schuylkill in a double header match up. The Cougars of Misericordia University head to Sassafras Softball Field to take on the River Hawks on March 24. March 28 marks SU's first double header Landmark Conference match up against the Cardinals of Catholic University, , then finish out the month with Messiah University on March 30 in a home double header match up.

The River Hawks head out to defending Landmark champions Moravian University on April 4. Returning home once more, the River Hawks welcome the Warriors of Lycoming College on April 7. A four game road streak is slated next for the River Hawks, with Drew University hosting the orange and maroon on April 11, followed by Juniata College hosting on April 15. Susquehanna hosts Elizabethtown College on April 18, before heading to Maryland to take on Stevenson University on April 21. Susquehanna's final home meeting is against the Royals of the University of Scranton on April 25, with the regular season finale taking place on May 2 at Wilkes University. The opening round of the Landmark Conference playoffs takes place on May 5, with the tournament running from May 8-10, with the victor of the conference being crowned on May 10.
