SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna kicker
Dominic Bourgeois' fifth Landmark Specialist of the Week selection this season doesn't even begin to describe the strides the junior has made this year. Bourgeois tied a career high with field goals in a game Saturday against Wilkes, going 4-for-4 on all his tries to pad out a 26-3 victory and clinch the Landmark Conference title for the third season in a row.
His third field goal from 29 yards out was arguably the most celebrated of the afternoon as he officially broke the school record for field goals made in a season, with the previous record of 12 shared between three SU kickers -
Christian Colasurdo (2023), Elijah Hoffman (2021), and Randy Helt (1988). Ahead 7-3 in the second quarter, Bourgeois made his first from 40 yards out, his longest of the day that arguably could have been good from 50 or more yards. He tacked on a second field goal before halftime from 30 yards out for a 13-3 lead at intermission. Following his record-setting field goal to give the team a 23-3 lead, Bourgeois closed out the scoring with a 31-yarder late in the fourth quarter. Both second-half field goals capped off long Susquehanna drives, spanning 7:33 and 6:48, respectively.Â
Bourgeois and the River Hawks complete the regular season this Saturday at Moravian at 12:30 p.m. They await their NCAA Tournament fate during this Sunday's selection show, with the national tournament beginning Saturday, Nov. 22.Â
